Makeup can make you gain confidence, why? Because you know for yourself that every angle you are stunning, you are not afraid to face everyone because you are thinking that you are presentable enough and you already give your best look to the others. Once, I was scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed then I saw this guy who’s named “Bretman Rock”. He is a famous Filipino makeup artist and already earned millions of followers, but there is one question that struck me “how can a guy be so brave in showing his face with makeup in public?” The answer is confidence, makeup gives him confidence in a way that he doesn’t look ugly, It describes who he is and his insecurities are hidden. I even think that makeup is part of his life (just like mine) because this is a gift that people recognize to make him as the “Bretman Rock”, I know some teenagers are shy because they are afraid people might judge them for how they look, for example, a shy girl with dark circles underneath her eyes that doesn’t want to present in front of the audience then if she puts full makeup on it, and she is satisfied by the way she looks because she is not going to think that she is looking pale and unpresentable.

2. IT’S FUN!

Yes, it is fun because first, it is my stress-reliever. Can you imagine that you have an awful day but nothing to cheer you up? Why don’t you do what you love? Apply makeup! You can feel strokes of brushes that calms down the skin and that satisfying sensation you feel on the skin, it is like my way to find myself again after a rough day. Second, you can be creative because you can think out of the box, you think that makeup isn’t just a makeup but you think that makeup is an art. like the cosplayer/youtuber alexis stone, he uses makeup to transform himself to another person, he doesn’t just apply and apply and look the same again everyday, he uses different techniques to look exactly like some celebrities. He is a creative cosplayer, he creates new looks using makeup. Lastly, makeup is fun because you can try new looks on your face, you can experiment with your face. By this way, you can try looks on you like halloween looks, evening looks, promenade looks and etc. this way may even help you find a makeup look that suits you best.

3. YOU CAN BE “YOU”.

At a young age, I really love makeup. I put lipstick by myself, put eyeshadow and ta-da! I'm a child makeup guru. One moment saddens me is that my mother forbids me to put makeup because she said I’m too young by wearing makeup but I really want to put it because I can express who I really am, I experienced being judge by putting makeup, some called me a “flirt”, a “clown” and etc. they criticize how I put my makeup when I was a only 15 years old. until I met my best friends named Donna and Diana, they taught me to how apply makeup properly and they influenced me with being picky in choosing good makeup. After meeting them I felt satisfied, finally someone understands me! It's like a puzzle piece is found. Fast forward to my present life, I continue to explore many techniques in applying makeup, I learn to embrace what I like, which is putting makeup on. now, everytime I put makeup, people adore how I wear it because I show my real self, if I didn’t believe in myself then I won’t be able to share my talent and I won’t be able to show my true self because nowadays, millennials are afraid to show themselves because they are afraid to get judged. Well, don’t be afraid, makeup is for all, if you are a guy who loves putting on makeup, then put things on your face to make you feel the best of yourself. putting makeup is self-care, self-care is an equivalent of loving yourself. that’s why there’s a quote “loving oneself starts from you, if you love yourself, people will love you back.”
